Learning unit contents
The course continues the introduction to the basics of the Chinese language begun in Level 1: pronunciation, character writing, common sentence patterns, general interrogative sentences and negative sentences. Over the course of the weeks, simple texts will be studied with some references to business Chinese and Chinese culture. Particular emphasis will be placed on pronunciation and dialogue.
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
At the end of this teaching unit, students will have enriched their vocabulary, their knowledge of characters and their fluency in oral expression. During this Level 2 course, students continue their learning based on a separation between oral and written learning. Oral learning will be faster than written learning (characters). An increasing number of characters will need to be mastered (visual recognition and correct writing). The focus during this Level 2 course will be on proper pronunciation, tone accuracy, dialogue construction, and class participation.
