Learning unit contents
The ZENS0017-1 course is aimed at future secondary school teachers (upper level). To prepare them as well as possible for entering their profession, it aims to equip them with practical knowledge related to the organisational structure of a school and to raise their awareness of the central role of collaborative work in their profession. The aim is neither to train researchers in educational sciences nor to deliver a strictly conceptual approach inspired by sociology or organisational psychology.
Given the number of hours allocated to it, the course will be resolutely pragmatic in its approach.
At the end of this course, future teachers will have the information they need to understand what is expected of them and the role and function of the various bodies that contribute to the organisation of school life.
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
At the end of the training programme, future teachers will be able to:
- extract provisions relating to their professional commitments and the organisation of school life from legal texts (decrees, orders and circulars);
- identify the various stakeholders involved in a school in order to understand (examine) the forms of partnership and collaboration to be developed in their professional practice;
- specify the tasks assigned to the various bodies or authorities within a school that are responsible for organising educational work (class council, participation council, works council, organising authority);
- identify the professional commitments that will be incumbent upon them when they take up their duties in a school - apart from planning, management and learning assessment activities;
- distinguish between those commitments that are required and those that are desirable;
- identify opportunities for collaborative work within the school organisation: internal training days, steering plan and objectives contract;
- analyse a number of collaborative tools;
- use all of the above information to devise a (relevant) response to a problem relating to the collective organisation of the school.
