Learning unit contents
This seminar introduces students to the use of Jamovi for conducting descriptives and inferntial statistical analyses.
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
The learning outcomes of this seminar are the following ones :
- Make appropriate analytical choices based on the research objectives and the nature of the data.
- Import and manage data (cleaning, transforming, and creating datasets) using the Jamovi software.
- Conduct basic descriptive and inferential statistical analyses using Jamovi.
- Read and interpret the results obtained from these analyses.
Prerequisite knowledge and skills
Students are strongly advised to have completed the course "Introduction à la recherche quantitative".
Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The seminar is based on the active participation of students. Drawing on concrete examples, students are invited to reflect on the most appropriate analyses for addressing a specific research question or hypothesis. They will then carry out these analyses, taking all necessary precautions to ensure the validity of the process, and subsequently interpret the results. Theory and practical work are therefore closely integrated throughout the course.
