  • PSYC918-1.Psychology of disabilities and related psychopathological aspects
The validation of the pediatric speech therapy internship is an essential step: it allows students to acquire the experience necessary to understand and analyze the clinical vignettes of complex cases studied during the course and evaluated in the exam.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

- Theoretical course

- Individual practical exercises, in the form of clinical case studies designed to develop clinical reasoning, are regularly made available on eCampus, at least at the end of each chapter. The aim of these exercises is to facilitate the gradual assimilation of the course content and to prepare students to apply it in clinical situations. The scenarios presented and the reasoning they require are then discussed and analysed as a group during the course.

oral exam

Further information:

Assessment for the course consists of an individual oral examination held during the examination period.

The examination primarily assesses students' ability to apply and integrate knowledge acquired throughout the course when analysing a clinical situation, identify and prioritise relevant information, formulate and compare clinical hypotheses, and justify their clinical reasoning and decisions regarding speech and language assessment and/or intervention.

To progressively prepare students for this type of clinical reasoning, individual formative clinical vignettes will be made available regularly on eCampus throughout the semester. These exercises will gradually increase in complexity and provide opportunities to practise analysing and integrating the course content. Feedback and/or discussion will subsequently be provided during class sessions.

These exercises are formative: the quality or accuracy of the answers will not contribute to the examination grade. However, a one-point bonus on the final grade (/20) will be awarded to students who complete all formative clinical vignettes within the specified deadlines.
