Learning unit contents
Theoretical course
This course extends and complements the concepts covered in the first part (3 BSM).
It focuses on putting the skills acquired in the previous year into practice in the field.
Students are placed in the position of future physical education teachers who are required to organize sporting events. They will therefore have to :
- contact the various organizations involved (DNF, Province, City, etc.),
- ensure the safety of the event (police, fire department, insurance, Red Cross),
- manage the budget and find equipment (rental centers, sponsors, provisional budget),
- organize communication (social media, posters, etc.).
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
Theoretical course
- Acquire a systematic approach to analyzing sports event management methods.
- Develop written and oral communication skills.
- Contribute to enriching students' practical knowledge of sports event management.
- Be able to develop a project involving the creation/management of a sports event.
Prerequisite knowledge and skills
The concepts covered in the previous part are essential. Internships in the field of management are also a useful resource.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods
An initial class is held to guide students in the methodology to adopt when creating their event. Weekly sessions are then organized. These take the form of discussions during which students present the progress of their project. The teacher intervenes to stimulate their thinking and encourage them to analyze the choices they have made in terms of budget, communication, entertainment, safety, and logistics.

The instructor will evaluate the quality of the final product, i.e., the organized event. This evaluation will account for 50% of the final grade.
The remaining 50% will be based on a written assignment. In this context, students will be required to :
- reflect on their personal involvement and identify areas for improvement,
- conduct a reflective analysis of the relevance of the course to their future practice as a physical education teacher,
- identify the main lessons they have learned for their future professional practice.
