Schedule
Units courses prerequisite and corequisite
Prerequisite or corequisite units are presented within each program
Learning unit contents
From an imposed architectural reference and its objective and exhaustive understanding, the student is invited to transform this context to accommodate a "persona". The profile of this persona is established on the basis of an extract from a book, film or documentary. The project of transformation of the inhabited place is developed down to the details.
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
The exercise consists in questioning the intimacy of the living spaces and to act so that they are adjusted as well as possible to the profiles of the occupants, those will be defined with precision via "persona".
The objective of the workshop will be to associate the functional and affective dimensions of an inhabited place via the environment, the building, the materials and the colors, the lights, the openings, the thermal properties, the quality of the air, the furniture, the decoration, as well as the kinesthetic/tactile/sound sensations.
Prerequisite knowledge and skills
All the notions learned in the workshops and theoretical courses of the first 4 years are reviewed and extended through the new projects.
The application of the right dimensions is an absolute prerequisite.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The main teaching device is the workshop. It takes place mainly in presentations and group critiques. Some devices are interspersed, such as internal workshop presentations, quick isolated exercises, study visits or trips, interventions of internal or external speakers.
Mode of delivery (face to face, distance learning, hybrid learning)
Face-to-face course
Additional information:
The pedagogy tends to develop the initiative, the critical spirit, the rigor and the efficiency of the student ("knowing how to be") to lead him in a coherent way in realistic projects as well at the level of the urbanistic and architectural options as at the level of programming, structural, normative and environmental.
The exercise is carried out in the workshop in small groups (2 to 4 students).
The physical presence at the workshop on Tuesdays and Fridays is mandatory during the whole workshop.
