Learning unit contents
The Critical Architectures workshop offers students the opportunity to think about territories and habitat in the context of a reflection on the fragility of life and to think about architecture in relation to the ecological crisis.
The workshop intends to explore the multiple possible answers to these questions by formulating scenarios that consider architecture from an experimental, speculative and critical angle.
This conceptual approach participates in the various alternative movements in architecture that emerged in the 1960s, using utopia or dystopia as reflexive tools (Global Tools, Superstudio, Archizoom, etc.) and whose conceptual traits run through the approaches of Koolhaas, Droog, Dunne and Raby and more recently the works of Superflux, Tomás Libertíny, etc.
The workshop encourages fictional scenarios, in connection with the ecological crisis, with the aim of exposing hypotheses, provoking actions, provoking debate, sketching out new conceptual and formal devices to rethink the habitability of today's world and to envisage cohabitation with all living beings, human and non-human.
