Practice of the Spanish language training both in its written and spoken form: how to produce a consistent train of thoughts based on a methodical structuring of ideas/arguments, as well as the use of logical links. Teaching of the vocabulary required to achieve this goal. All material used to this end will come from print media.

Ability to understand and thus analyze, as well as comment on Spanish texts dealing with everyday subject matters. Ability to ask simple, as well as complicated questions. Ability to give a speech on a given subject matter. Ability to hold a nuanced conversation (fear, doubt, confidence, disagreement, etc.)

Additional information:
First session
Written exam (40%): a. 500-word essay on any one topic dealt with in class ; b. test on the inclass content, i.e the vocabulary.
Oral exam (40%): questions about reading a required book. The student will be asked to get his/her thoughts organized by using logical links as learned in class, as well as a fluent and structured Spanish language.
In class oral presentation (20%): any topic.
