Learning unit contents

Self-Review of analytical methods applied for the determination of various chemical contaminants (PAHs, mycotoxins, pesticide residues, heavy metals, ...) in various matrices (water, food, urine, ....)

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

Understand the organization of an analytical method
Understand the stages of development and validation of an analytical method through concrete examples    

Prerequisite knowledge and skills

Knowledge of analytical techniques, analytical procedures and analytical validation procedures are required to handle this self-project.
Have attended the "Chemical analysis: instrumental techniques" (CHIM9246-2) class is highly recommended.

Preparation of a Power Point presentation of the method, with critical review (in English)

Assessment methods and criteria

Below you will find information on the evaluation methods planned for in-person and remote exams as well as those planned for hybrid sessions. Depending on how the health crisis evolves, the chosen method will be communicated to you no later than one month before the start of the exam session.

Additional information:

Evaluation is divided in 2 parts:
19 points : Evaluation of the presentation (report, PPT and oral) + Evaluation of the answer to the questions
1 point: participation to the activities proposed over the term. 
 
If the COVID situation will not allow the oral exam in person, it will be held on Collaborate with the same modality
