Learning unit contents
In-depth study of translation theory in relationship with various sorts of general and specialized texts. Numerous translation exercices will make it to possible to extend the student's lexical and grammatical knowledge in Dutch as well as in French.
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
By the end of the course, the students will have broadened the scope of their translation strategies from Dutch to French and with regards to different kinds of texts as well linguistic registers.
They will also have acquired a solid theoretical and methodological framework, which will enable them to describe translation problems and to comment on them.
Prerequisite knowledge and skills
Very good knowledge of Dutch and excellent knowledge of French.
It is strongly recommanded to first take introductory classes to translation studies (BA) before attending this course.
