Learning unit contents

Introduction to theories of cognitive aging. Illustration of changes du to aging in the domains of memory, langage, attention,... Critical approach of cognitive rehabilitation in normal aging.

Acquisition of knowledge in the domain of cognitive functioning during normal aging

Prerequisite knowledge and skills

Basic knowledges in cognitive and language psychology.

The slides of each lesson as well as scientific publication about the topics are available for the students

Assessment methods and criteria

Written evaluation. The procedures of examination for ERASMUS student are similar to the ones for ULiege students

Adaptation of teaching commitments following the COVID-19 pandemic for the May-June 2020 session

Teaching methods implemented : distance-learning

From April 19, 2020:
- Online course via detailed notes and slides
- Assessement and feedback on learning via a quiz after each course on e-campus
- Vocabulary explaining important words from the lectures
- Discussion forum to ask questions to the teacher and share any matter that would need clarification.

Assessment subjects

The whole course including live-lectures and online lectures.

Assessment methods

As written examination, students will have to write a 2-3-page report about a theme that will be announced after the last course (May 7). This integrative work will allow us to evaluate theoretical knowledge as well as the ability to synthesize and apply this knowledge to concrete situations.
The report should be send by email to the three teachers one week before the initial exam date (examen date: June 17; so before Jne 10, 2020). The teachers may organise an oral defense of the work by the student on June 17 (8:30-10:30).

Assessment methods

The written exam will consist in preparing a 2-3 pages document relative to a theme that will be given a few weeks in advance. This integrative work will evaluate the theoretical knowledge and the ability to synthesize and apply the acquired knowledge to practical situations.
The work will be uploaded on e-campus ("Devoirs").
