Learning outcomes of the learning unit

By the end of this course, students will have acquired skills in terms of critical analysis of the taxonomy of scientifc evidence and in the implementation of an MA. He/she will have learned to interpret the results of a meta-analysis and will have had the opportunity to do one. In order to have a global and critical view of Evidence Based Public Health, he will also have acquired competence in critical analysis of MA methodology, effect estimators, sensitivity analyses and potential biases of publications.

Adaptation of teaching commitments following the COVID-19 pandemic for the May-June 2020 session

Teaching methods implemented : distance-learning

Since the 19/03/2020, all the different classes are performed on line.
The teachers registered their voice and a video via power point for each lessons. Videos are posted on MyUliege with a forum opened on Ecampus for any questions from the students. 

Assessment subjects

The evaluation will comprise the 3 statistical courses that have been given about meta-analysis. We will ask to students to be able to understand/interprete different statistics of meta-analysis.
Not included in the evaluation: extraction of data, risk of bias assessment, practical application on the software "R". 

Assessment methods

Individual oral evaluation via the software "Lifesize". 
A web link will be communicate to each students to be able to connect on Lifesize. A possibility to "try" this application before the date of evaluation will be offered to each student.
