Digital Strategy
Today, every organization is impacted by the digital revolution, whether it likes it or not. Digital is now an unavoidable factor that affects corporate life. This true in all sectors and for all types of organizations.
In a more or less ambitious way, firms are led to transform in order to meet the challenges of digital. This is why this digital strategy course was designed. Its purpose is to understand what the term "digital transformation" implies and how a digital transformation strategy is built.
Various themes will be addressed in this course, among which: Industry 4.0, the platformization of economy, AI, etc.
Business Processes
In today's business environment, Business Processes are essential for every company and organization. They provide a better understanding of how businesses work and provide better services/values to their customers. Hammer & Champy's define a business process as " a collection of activities that takes one or more kinds of input and creates an output that is of value to the customer". In other words, the business processes are the business of the company and organization.
This course mainly covers the following topics:
- Business Process Identification
- Modeling As-is process with BPMN 2.0
- Business Process Analysis
- Business Process Redesign with BPMN 2.0 (To-be process)
- Business Process automation with a Business Process Management Systems (e.g. Bizagi)
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
Digital Strategy
By the end of the course, students will be able to:
- define the concept of digital transformation
- differentiate digital technology from digital strategy
- elaborate a digital strategy building approach
- understand the main digital-related technologies
- apprehend digital-related changes in terms of business model.
Business Processes
In the end of this course, students will have developed different knowledge and skills related to Business Process. In particular, they will be:
- Able to identify As-is process
- Able to model Business Processes with BPMN 2.0
- Able to identify the bottleneck of a Business Process
- Able to improve the performance et effectiveness of a Business Process and able to model the To-be process
- Able to implement and automate a business process of the organization with a Business Process Management Systems

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Digital Strategy
Learning method will be based on:
- Active participation to physical classes
- Reading of a number of predefined articles
- Realization of a group work
Business Processes
- Project based learning: a group of 6 students work on a case. Students need to deliver a written report and an oral presentation.
- Flipped classroom: students are invited to follow some MOOCs before some LABs
- Some individual works are marked.

The teaching mode will be based on physical lectures.
