Schedule
Units courses prerequisite and corequisite
Prerequisite or corequisite units are presented within each program
Learning unit contents
This course relates to the multidisciplinary examination of cases. The cases drawn from practice involve the students' legal reasoning skills and their overall legal knowledge covering several fields.
Rather than showing the extent of their knowledge, students are expected to demonstrate their ability to reason and their aptitude for detecting and presenting the comments and the issues of law and fact relevant to solving the case, in a coherent, structured and complete manner.
The precision of the comments expected from the students depends on the information and documents given to the students in support of the case.
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
The course aims to initiate students, as future legal professionals, in multidisciplinary reflection, by placing the emphasis on practice. This involves encouraging them to simultaneously implement several rules from various branches of the law, and helping them to acquire the reflexes required to bring the relevant issues to the fore.
Prerequisite knowledge and skills
This is a final-year course, which means students should be well versed in the subjects taught during the bachelor's degree. Students must have taken the following courses: Obligation and contract law; Extra-contractual responsibility; Economic law; Property law and notions of intellectual property; Administrative law and contentious business principles; Family law; Civil partnership law; Social law; Special contracts; Criminal procedure.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Either case studies or case files are presented in class, which the students are asked to prepare for each session. Slides allow students to structure the main thoughts and issues discussed in class. Some cas studies are presented by profesionnals (notary, bailiffs...) which are used to the multidisciplinarity.
Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning)
The course is taught face-to-face and is organised during the 2nd semester, tuesday from 11AM to 1PM.
Recommended or required readings
The relevant documents are available on the MyULg portal.
Assessment methods and criteria
Assessment is in the form of a written exam during the June session. Students have to solve a case study or case file, similar to those dealt with in class.

Adaptation of teaching commitments following the COVID-19 pandemic for the May-June 2020 session
Teaching methods implemented : distance-learning
Distance learning takes place as follows: * Cases are sent to students via My.Uliège a few days before the lesson. * Concomitantly (or a few hours later), the resolution slides are communicated in the same way. In view of the situation, these are slides which contain a more detailed resolution than usual in order to allow students a better understanding. * The teacher is available to students for any questions regarding these resolutions, via the discussion forum created on My.Uliège, during class hours, that is to say on Tuesday between 11 am and 1 pm. To post a comment on the forum, the student must "create a subject". To do this, use the "new topic" tab on the right of the screen. * On April 28 at 11:00 am, the teacher will be available to students to respond verbally to any questions relating to the course, subject, exam, etc. This discussion will be held by videoconference via Lifesize. The link to this video meeting as well as useful information will be communicated to students beforehand via MyUliège. In the event of technical difficulties concerning the discussion forum on MyUliège, the documents transmitted or the Lifsize videoconference, the student is invited to contact the teacher by e-mail (aude.berthe@uliege.be).
Assessment subjects

In other words, the student will not be expected to implement points of matter which do not constitute assessment subjects for courses in property law and concepts of intellectual rights, personal law , families and the property law of couples as well as the law of criminal procedure.
Assessment methods
The examination takes place remotely, in the form of a casus comparable to the casus resolved in sessions, via e-campus.
