Learning unit contents

This course is an introductory course in the field of penology and the questions related to punishment. It is - among others - linked and integrated with other courses related to punishment and punishment execution.

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

- Know the different senses that a given penalty is assigned to have or reach
- Master the major works and thinking in the the penoloogy field
- Be able to analys any given legislation or criminal policy
- Know the different penlaties that exist within the Belgian juridical system

No written support but slideshows available to students on the virtual campus from the school of criminology. During the lessons, several readings will be suggested.

Students will assessed on the contents of the classroom sessions and on the powerpoint slideshows (xith audios) used since the confinement. The main three parts of the course are:

2°) La politique criminelle
3°) Les alternatives et questions sous-jacentes

TRUE OR FALSE exam (0 point for a wrong answer and 1 for a good one).
All the questions available at the beginning of the exam. 
Mutilple attemps but only one evaluated.
40 questions, 2 hours available.
