Learning unit contents

The objective of this course is to tackle a theme frequently encountered in clinical practice in Geriatric Medicine (eg, fear of falling, depression, disability) or psychological treatments and assessment techniques that are applicable in this context.
Several concepts will first be described (eg what is the fear of falling, what about its prevalence, its causes and consequences, and so on). On this basis, existing interventions will be developed. Finally, special attention will be given to the use of these techniques in a geriatric context and the potential role of the psychologist.
