Learning unit contents

Description of the teaching unit:

In the continuity of partim I, this teaching unit aims to bring the student to the presentation of a public lesson prepared in full autonomy, situated within a balanced sequence, based on adequate notional contents, mobilizing an appropriate and carefully described didactic approach.

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

At the end of this teaching unit, the student will be able to mobilize the theoretical and practical resources of training in specialized didactics in order to achieve a balanced didactic sequence, based on valid notional contents, and present it in a dynamic way in front of a peers audience.

 

Prerequisite knowledge and skills

Mastery of the French language and disciplinary knowledge

To have followed part I of the teaching unit (AESS0335-1) and to have mastered the acquired knowledge; have completed part I of the internship (PSTG0038-1). Corequisites: part II of the internship (PSTG0039-1).

 

 

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

  • Presentations with note-taking by the student;
  • Work on the texts in the reading portfolio (theoretical structuring, clarification, exchanges);
  • Practical exercises.

Recommended or required readings

Institutional resources (decrees, programs, tools) and reading portfolio available on eCampus. The readings and resources will feed and exemplify into the material covered in class and will be discussed in class, with a view to being used for assessment work. They will enhance students' mastery of knowledge and reflexivity in carrying out exercises and public lessons.

Additional information:

The evaluation of the course will be based, on the one hand, on the daily work and, on the other hand, on a public lecture.

Please note: successful completion of both parts of the module is a prerequisite for validation of the teaching unit. In the event of failure, the lowest grade will be taken into consideration.

Attending class, working regularly (reading, exercises, etc.) and taking an active part in class are essential to the success of this teaching unit. All absences must be duly justified (medical certificate; failing this, justification to be accepted at the discretion of the supervisors). After 3 unjustified absences, the student will not be allowed to sit the exam.

Grades communicated via the eCampus gradebook are for information only, pending deliberation.

Organisational remarks and main changes to the course

The course is held at COMMU II, on Wednesdays, from 2 to 5 p.m., except during winter and spring breaks.
