Learning unit contents

Part 1 - First Aid (12 hours)

Theoretical course (4 hours)

  • Essential first-aid principles and procedures in a school context.
  • Educational tools and resources for teaching first aid to pupils.
Practical courses (2 × 4 hours)

  • Design and implementation of first-aid learning activities adapted to pupils.
  • Teaching cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and automated external defibrillator (AED) use to pupils.
Part 2 - Prevention of Musculoskeletal Disorders (12 hours)

Theoretical course (4 hours)

  • Main MSDs and risk factors associated with occupational activities.
  • Principles and strategies for MSD prevention.
Practical courses (2 × 4 hours)

  • Analysis of occupational situations and identification of risk factors.
  • Design and implementation of MSD prevention activities adapted to pupils in vocational education.

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

Part 1 - First Aid

  • Identify the main emergency situations and provide appropriate first aid.
  • Design and implement first-aid learning activities adapted to pupils.
  • Adapt teaching methods and equipment to the target group and school context.
Part 2 - Prevention of Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs)

  • Identify risk factors for MSDs related to occupational activities.
  • Propose appropriate prevention strategies.
  • Integrate MSD prevention into learning activities for pupils in vocational education.

Prerequisite knowledge and skills

Initial first-aid training (BEPS or equivalent training) is required to participate in certain practical activities.
