Prerequisite knowledge and skills
The Health Promotion Program Engineering course is based on the concepts covered in various courses, particularly : SANT4013 (Health Promotion and Its Determinants), SANT0740-2 (General Introduction to Public Health), and SANT4010-1 (Analysis of Public Action in Health).
Planned learning activities and teaching methods
- The teaching strategy chosen for this course is the creation/development of a group health promotion project, up to the evaluation stage. The theoretical concepts will be presented to students in a way that guides the research needed for their group work. These will need to be supplemented with personal research.
- A preparatory course is planned in the first semester as a webinar to introduce Service Learning, followed by an hour presenting the course and the group work.
- This course is recognized as a Service Learning-type educational initiative. Service Learning is a hands-on learning method in which students get involved in a service that addresses a societal need, reflect on their experiences, and learn from them on academic, professional, and civic levels. In this context, students are encouraged to meet with civil society actors from a participatory perspective. They are guided by the NGO Eclosio in civic reflection through thematic workshops.
