Learning unit contents
Through practical exercises, the course provides training in conducting qualitative research, including problem formulation, development of an interview guide, interviewing and observation techniques, data analysis, reflexivity, and the communication of findings.
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
- Situate a research project within a paradigmatic framework
- Develop a research problem
- Select and apply an appropriate research approach based on the research question (phenomenological, narrative, discursive)
- Design an interview guide
- Apply research interview strategies, techniques, and tools
- Conduct a reflexive thematic analysis of empirical material
- Consider the ethical issues involved in qualitative research
- Communicate the findings of a qualitative study
