Upon completion of this course, students will be able to apply the following seven macro-skills in their pharmaceutical practice:
- Pharmaceutical expertise: applying and updating their scientific knowledge, demonstrating critical thinking and basing their decisions on reliable data.
- Medication preparation: to prepare medicines with rigour and precision, in accordance with procedures, quality requirements and safety rules.
- Healthcare advice: to offer support tailored to the patient's needs, demonstrating the ability to listen, show empathy and respect the patient's choices.
- Communication: conveying clear information tailored to the listener, maintaining confidentiality and collaborating effectively with patients, colleagues and other healthcare professionals.
- Problem-solving and risk management: analysing situations, identifying risks, proposing relevant solutions and recognising the limits of one's own expertise in order to seek appropriate assistance.
- Work management: organising one's activities, setting priorities and managing one's time independently and responsibly, whilst adapting to unforeseen circumstances and contributing to teamwork.
- Quality management: evaluating one's practices, identifying opportunities for improvement and incorporating feedback into a process of continuous improvement.
The development of these macro-skills is underpinned by a professional attitude.

Le stage s'accompagne de la constitution d'un dossier d'apprentissage (portfolio), faisant l'objet d'un autre partim de cette unité d'enseignement, ainsi que d'un examen d'intégration des connaissances (cf. le corequis PHAR0721-1).
Ce dossier atteste de la maîtrise des différents actes professionnels, validée en ligne par le maître de stage, et de l'acquisition des compétences, étayée par des preuves recueillies tout au long du stage. Il comprend également une réflexion personnelle menée au début et à la fin du stage, permettant à l'étudiant d'identifier ses objectifs d'apprentissage et d'évaluer sa progression.

Attendance during the placement is required in accordance with the arrangements communicated by the Placement Committee during the information sessions. This information is available for download on the Karuta platform dedicated to placements.
The attendance schedule at the community pharmacy is specified in the placement plan. Any unjustified absence identified by the Placement Committee will result in a penalty (invalidation of one or more weeks of placement), as explained during the compulsory placement induction day.
Remote support is available via the Karuta platform.

The work placement is subject to several interim formative assessments as well as a final assessment by the placement supervisor. Inadequate results in the interim assessments may lead to the work placement being terminated early.
The placement supervisor assesses the student using a dedicated form. The placement mark is calculated by converting the competency levels selected by the supervisor into numerical scores. It accounts for 40% of the final mark for the course unit.
If the student fails either the "learning portfolio" component or the "work placement" component, the final mark for the course unit will be the mark awarded for the failed component, in accordance with the "absorbing mark" principle.

Students are responsible for finding their own placement supervisor. They must submit their choice to the Placements Committee within the deadlines set and published on the Karuta platform. Any application submitted after the deadline will not be considered.
The choice of placement location is subject to the Placements Committee's approval of the placement supervisor. The approval criteria are presented at the information sessions and can be downloaded from the Karuta platform.
If no approved placement supervisor is available, the student will not be able to undertake their placement during the academic year in question.
Successful completion of the six-month pharmacy placement is an essential prerequisite for sitting the knowledge integration examination.

As stated in the course programme, the 26-week work placement (a legal requirement) begins immediately after completion of the Bachelor's degree in the form of a two-week introductory placement. It may be continued in 8-week blocks during the summer immediately preceding the academic year in which the student is due to graduate. The remaining weeks of the placement are completed during Block 2, in the second quadrimester (Q10).
