Learning unit contents

This year's course will address the relationship between humans and non-humans, focusing in particular on the impact of human activity on the environment and other species. This issue-central to contemporary society-will be examined from a long-term perspective, tracing developments from prehistoric and protohistoric times.

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

Drawing on data from archaeology and related disciplines, as well as anthropological approaches, students will be encouraged to reflect on the origins of the anthropization of the environment.

Students will also gain experience in producing an original research project-presented orally and/or in writing-on a topic related to the seminar's theme, while developing a rigorous, well-argued, and critical analysis.
