Schedule
Units courses prerequisite and corequisite
Prerequisite or corequisite units are presented within each program
Learning unit contents
Elastic methods of structural analysis : Introduction - Basic theorems - Flexibility method (classical) - Stiffness method (classical, simplified, use of software) - Moment distribution method - Influence lines Plastic global analysis (basic theorems, static and kinematic methods) Worked examples.
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
This course is particularly dedicated to the analysis of statically undeterminate structures.
Deliver the background of the methods of global analysis and train to the determination of internal forces and displacements in a given structure subjected to a given loading.
The complete list of the KLO for this course is defined in the matrix available at the following address: https://www.programmes.uliege.be/cocoon/20182019/formations/descr/A2UCON01.html
This course contributes to the learning outcomes I.1, I.2, II.1, II.2, II.3, III.1, III.2, III.3, III.4, IV.1, IV.2, IV.3, IV.4, IV.5 of the MSc in civil engineering.
Prerequisite knowledge and skills
Course on mechnics of materials
FUNDAMENTAL: The student must absolutely master determination of effects of actions in statically determined structures
Planned learning activities and teaching methods
A substantial part of the lectures is devoted to exercises to be solved by the students or worked out by the assistant.
Mode of delivery (face to face, distance learning, hybrid learning)
Lectures and exercises are organised alternately. Some marked exercices are organised during the courses, with advance notice to the students.
