Learning unit contents
This course is a continuation of the "Questions of Lexicography and Syntax" course from the first semester.
The course focuses on the following points:
- Identifying solecisms and barbarisms; correcting stylistic errors and weaknesses.
- Writing practice based on an essay(1) (argumentative or explanatory texts).
- Compiling a bibliography.
- Presenting the rules of French punctuation.
- Presenting typographical rules.
- Improving knowledge of vocabulary and spelling.

Learning outcomes of the learning unit
The student will be able to write various documents. They will adapt their style and content to the purpose, medium, and audience(s).
They will write in flawless French, respecting stylistic modalities (tone, language register, etc.) and the rules of French punctuation.
They will be able to grasp the nuances induced by punctuation, lexical, and syntactical choices.
They will be able to proofread a text (identifying typographical errors, barbarisms, and solecisms).
Prerequisite knowledge and skills
There are no mandatory prerequisites, but it is strongly recommended to have passed the "Questions of Lexicography and Syntax" exam (Semester 1) to take the "Writing Techniques" learning activity (AA).

Schedule and Location
The class will be held on Mondays from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. The classroom will be specified by January at the latest.
Teaching and Learning Methods
This is a dynamic course that places a strong emphasis on interaction between the instructor and the group. Students are required to put in a certain amount of personal effort outside of class time.

June Examination
The June exam will be a written test that may include one or more multiple-choice questions (QCM) and open-ended questions. The exam will cover the following topics:

Vocabulary knowledge: Students will not be allowed to use the 1000 mots pour réussir le bac manual for this part.

Identification and correction: Students will be presented with at least one text to identify and correct solecisms, barbarisms, and Belgicisms.
Final Grade Breakdown (June)

Written Exam: 60%

Test on Nicolas Framont's essay: 40%. This test will be administered before the June session (for the 1st session) or on the same day as the written exam during the session (for the 2nd session).
