Units courses prerequisite and corequisite

Prerequisite or corequisite units are presented within each program

Learning unit contents

The course deals with the environment in a very broad sense. One part focuses on territory and the other on the environment (horizontal and sectoral policies). The concrete implementation of these policies is examined each time by looking at what this means in legal terms. For each part (territory and environment), it is necessary to begin with the analysis of the policies elaborated on a European level and then study their application in the Belgian federal system and, more specifically, in the Walloon Region.

The course is held every odd year for the students of master in political sciences (2023-2024).

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

This course aims to provide students with a general overview relating to the main policies concerning the environment and territory. Based on the texts in force, students are required to identify and illustrate the techniques used and initiate an approach allowing them to deal with concrete situations.

Prerequisite knowledge and skills

None but knowledge of the Belgian and European Union institutional system is an asset. These aspects are the subject of an introductory session.
