Health simulation, through the use of different tools to reproduce in a more or less realistic way clinical situations, allows an important improvement in the training of health professionals in the field of initial, specialized and keep on going. This type of training contributes to the necessary efforts to improve the quality and safety of care, through the use of new digital technologies and simulation.
This course covers the essentials of simulation-based teaching: health care safety, the human factor, the different types of simulation, writing a scenario, and the basics of debriefing.
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
At the end of the course, the student will be able to:
- Understand and explain the different types of learning, as well as the principles applied in learning through simulation.
- to create a fictitious course with simulation scenario(s), emphasizing the role of the teacher
- to understand the interest and drawbacks of (various) technologies in simulation in the field of health.
