Learning unit contents

The course aims primarily to familiarise students with various psychological difficulties (cognitive, behavioural and emotional) that patients may experience. The course includes testimonials.

 
The course will cover the following topics:

Cognitive and behavioural disorders in adults and children

Communication disorders

Disability and its psychological aspects

Psycho-affective disorders (depression, anxiety, pain, grief)

Testimonials from patients will illustrate some of the topics covered in the course.

 

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

At the end of this course, the student will be able to identify the characteristics of the psychological development of people with physical or mental disabilities (various syndromes) and will have a better understanding of the psychological issues involved in interventions and the role of the physiotherapist with people with disabilities.
