The seminar takes the form of a week-long workshop, preceded by several preparatory sessions. The sessions are led by various speakers and aim to create conditions conducive to fruitful readings and personal reflection among participants. The workshop itself is held in April or May. It brings together doctoral students, senior researchers, and professors from the Center for Phenomenological Research (Creph) and several foreign research centers.
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
Conceptualization and problematization of a central question in philosophy; acquisition of in-depth theoretical content in terms if the history of philosophy and its contemporary issues.
Prerequisite knowledge and skills
Undergraduate philosophical training.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods
One-week research seminar, preceded by a preparatory seminar. Integration of students into research dynamics in phenomenological philosophy within ULiege. Experience in an international research context.
The preparatory sessions take the form of a classic face-to-face university course (presentation following by questions). The research seminar corresponds, on the other hand, to an intensive immersion in a high-level collective research environment.
In this demanding context, personal work of the students will be particularly supported.
