Learning unit contents
This course focuses on the study of the most frequently used statistical or psychometric models in educational sciences, namely:
- Linear regression;
- Logistic regression;
- Multilevel linear regression;
- Multilevel logistic regression;
- The difference-in-differences method
- Item response models, including differential item functioning;
- Confirmatory factor analyses, including invariance analyses;
- The main types of literature reviews;
- Classic meta-analysis models.
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
At the end of this course, students will be able to:
- Interpret results published in peer-reviewed scientific articles that use one of the aforementioned models;
- Verify whether the model's application conditions are met;
- Determine the consequences of violating certain application conditions on the interpretation of results.
