Learning unit contents

In this cours, an entry by "content" is preferred, with a willingness to develop continuity in learning mathematics from kindergarten to the beginning of secondary school.


Several themes are developed including the first numerical learnings, the articulation between arithmetic and algebra and in the continuity from kindergarten to lower secondary school level, the proportional reasoning et fractions.

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

Students will  understand the underlying theoretical foundations of the different themes and better understand  some aspects of the cognitive development of pupils towards mathematics learning to

- identify issues related to the learning of basic mathematical concepts

- (better) interpret errors, difficulties and informal strategies of students

- take a critical look at different teaching and learning activities and/or assessment tools

The methodology will consist of alternating theoretical presentations, analyses of student productions and analyses of teaching / learning activities.
