Learning unit contents

Evaluating learning is an essential component of the teaching and training expertise. It's closely linked to the way training is globally designed.

Nowadays, deep changes generate a transformation of both thinking and practices in evaluation, in particular in the sector of adult training. For instance, the development of competence-based evaluation arises numerous questions around evaluation.

This course will be an opportunity to discuss questions connected to this evolution. It will also ask the students to analyse learning evaluation settings and/or propose evaluations.

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

The course will contribute to the development of the following competence:

To design/analyze complex evaluation settings (competence evaluations):

  • referring to conceptual frameworks from the interdisciplinary field of the educational sciences (models, existing litterature) ;
  • taking into account the contexts and different actors of those situations (age, life and training contexts, functionning of the systems, meaning for each of the actors) ;
  • formulating useful ideas for trainers.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
