Introduction to business Dutch and study of the vocabulary and the main chapters of Dutch grammar through grammar (drill) exercises, reading, writing, speaking and listening activities.
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
This is the third year of the programme. The final objective is written and oral practice of everyday Dutch.
The third part focuses on a basic knowledge of Dutch grammar and vocabulary.
Prerequisite knowledge and skills
A basic knowledge of oral and written Dutch is required.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Reading and listening comprehension, grammar and vocabulary exercises, debates, written assignments, etc. These exercises will be available in downloadable files in the "Course Materials" tab.
Mode of delivery (face to face, distance learning, hybrid learning)
2 hours every week. It is possible to follow @lter Basic at the same time.

Written exam in June.
The written exam will cover vocabulary (synonyms, translations, fill-in-the-blank texts, etc.) and grammar covered in class (50%) and will also include reading comprehension exercises (10%), a writing assignment (10%), and basic vocabulary from the Dutch Vocabulary A1-A2 textbook: 1,000 words in 200 mind maps (20%).
Vocabulary tests will be organized throughout the year. These tests will count towards the written exam (20%). Students have the opportunity to retake tests they have failed (less than 10/20) on the day of the written exam. Please note: if students fail the tests during the year and do not retake them in the written exam, they will receive a score of zero for this part of the exam. If they pass (10/20 or higher), they may be exempted.
In accordance with Article 64 of the General Regulations for Studies and Exams (RGEE), tests taken during the course periods, and whose marks are included in the calculation of the final mark, are only organized once per academic year.
