Writing support seminar

Seminar sessions are primarily intended as a learning space, providing methodological support as well as opportunities for discussion and reflection on the progress of the thesis. They do not replace the mandatory meetings scheduled between the student and their academic supervisor.

Mode of delivery (face to face, distance learning, hybrid learning)

Face-to-face course

Further information:

The support seminar is divided into several sessions that follow the logical process of developing a research paper. The aim is to help students develop a working method for their final thesis.

Session 1 - Introduction and Defining the Research Problem
Overview of the seminar (structure, goals, schedule). First steps in defining a research problem and formulating research questions, using examples from academic readings.

Session 2 - Building a Literature Review
Hands-on session focused on developing a literature review that helps place and contextualize the research topic.

Session 3 - Research Ethics and the Role of the Researcher
Discussion of ethical issues in research: the researcher's position, working in the field, and collecting data responsibly from participants.

Session 4 - Collecting and Analyzing Data
Introduction to research methods and a review of the basics of analyzing qualitative, quantitative, and mixed data.

Session 5 - Presenting and Interpreting Findings
How to clearly organize and present research results, and how to interpret them in order to build a strong and well-argued discussion.

Session 6 - Preparing for the Oral Defense
Practical advice on how to structure, present, and defend research work in front of an academic jury, and how to respond confidently to questions.

Note: The number and content of sessions can be adjusted according to the needs of the students. If certain sessions require more in-depth explanations, or if specific requests emerge, adaptations will be made to fully meet the expectations of all students.
