Learning unit contents
This course addresses the major historical and theoretical questions related to animated cinema. It focuses particularly on Western animated film, devotes significant attention to the history of both cartoon animation and stop motion, and examines the conception of those artificial beings that are the figures of animated cinema.
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
The course contributes to the analysis of the representations of the body in the cinema. He also gives theoretical and esthetic references to the students who discover the peculiarities of the cartoon film.
Prerequisite knowledge and skills
Good knowledge of the history and the esthetics of the cinema.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The course, very illustrated, requires the active participation of the students.

The examination consists of the oral defense of a written, personal, and original work previously submitted in accordance with the instructions given during the course.
