Learning unit contents
The Monetary and Financial Economics course covers monetary theory and policy, as well as basic financial theory. The program is divided into 2 parts:
Part 1: Monetary economics
- Money and the money market
- The demand for money
- Money supply: money creation
- The formation of interest rates
- Monetary policy
- Financial crises
- Modeling investor rationality: homo oeconomicus
- Portfolio choice and risk management
- Financial asset price formation
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
The aim of this course is to acquire a coherent body of knowledge in monetary and financial economics in order to understand the economic and financial environment and its underlying mechanisms.
