Learning unit contents

The mission aims to identify and document in depth an unresolved problem related to some of the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals (or sub-goals).

The ambition is that the mission leads to an in-depth analysis of a problem likely to lead to an entrepreneurial opportunity which could then be developed within the framework of the master's degree.

The main part of the mission is focused on documenting a problem as much as possible with a view to subsequently (outside the mission) bringing out candidate entrepreneurial solutions. The focus is therefore to fully understand a problem, not to validate an entrepreneurial project. For the year 2022-2023, the issue selected is related to energy. Teams will be asked to define their specific challenge question in connection with the general question for September 26.

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

The mission will aim to develop the following skills:

- Ability to better understand major societal issues and the associated problems to be resolved.
- Ability to identify relevant problems, analyze them and document them.
- Ability to better align their personal knowledge with their project (the personal "Why") in order to increase their capacity for commitment.
- Ability to develop an empathetic approach towards selected issues.
- Ability to perform benchmarking (in connection with existing solutions to selected problems).
