Learning unit contents

The course is divided in 3 parts and the first two parts are included here: The first part starts with a description of the concept of juvenile delinquency, the evolution and the measure of this phenomenon, especially in Belgium. We then describe criminological theories related to juvenile delinquency, the factors associated and their methodological issues. Finally, we present specific situations related to juvenile delinquency. The second part discuss interventions in juvenile delinquency, including contents, evaluation and presentations of succesful interventions.

  • Acquire a good knowledge of theoritical concepts related to juvenile delinquency (general and specific issues) and components of intervention

Recommended course in preparation of this course: Droit de la jeunesse (juvenile justice)
