Learning unit contents

The cours will be given according to the following plan:
Introductory course
General: examination procedures, course content, support, reference books Familiarization with Wooclap by means of general questions on the stages of development Evolutionary, environmentalist and interactionist approaches
Introduction to the important concepts of developmental psychology, the methods it employs, the main theories of development
Importance of prenatal development and birth: factors (internal and external) involved in development
Models and generalities on the major stages of human development motor, emotional and cognitive development
With the help of video supports, discoveries of the main stages of emotional development in parallel with cognitive and motor development:


  • the baby
  • the child
  • the teenager
Links between affective, motor and cognitive development: synthesis and interindividual differences
Revision and questions

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

Using reference books and clinical illustrations, the course focuses on child development. It will thus be a question of studying the various theoretical concepts of the psychology of the development. Then, the major areas of child development will be addressed (motor, cognitive and social).
The objective of the course is to impart to the students the knowledge necessary to understand the development of the child.
Courses will include clinical illustrations and scientific references and books.
