Introduction
This cours introduces qualitative research, as one of the methods used in social sciences.
Course and practical work
The course introduces the specificities of qualitative approaches through steps in a scientific research (data collection, analysis and interpretation). Grounded theory method (GTM) is introduced as a generic formalisation of qualitative research.

- Understand the benefit of qualitative research in psychology and education

The student will be able to:
- given a research question, decide whether a qualitative or a quantitative approach is relevant,
- accurately define qualitative terms,
- designate a qualitative phenomenon.

Introduction
Fluency in French is mandatory. Students whose mother tongue is not French are encouraged to follow this course when they will have acquired a perfect mastery of French langage.
