Learning unit contents
The course is divided into 8 chapters:
1 - economic concepts
2 - management concepts
3 - project management
4 - the construction sector
5 - Construction project organisation
6 - Budget and finance
7 - site management
8 - life cycle of the work
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
At the end of the Management course, the student is able to
- understand the main concepts of management economics and project management;
- Understand the construction market in Europe, Belgium and Wallonia in order to understand the issues at stake, particularly for investors, contractors and project owners;
- understand the stakeholders in a construction project; their roles; their interests and potential conflicts
- understand financial techniques used by investors (private, professional or public);
- understanding the life cycle of a structure from its design to its demolition or reuse.
The "sustainability" and "society" axes of reflection will be particularly encountered in a circular vision of project management, which goes from the initial design in a given societal context to the demolition or reuse of the built project.
The "art" and "digital" axes are not addressed.

External speakers are invited to share their experiences in relation to the different themes covered.

Additional information:
Oral examination of 20' with a preparation of the first question of 20'.
The student has all the notes and readings. The student must show that he/she has understood the concepts seen in the course and is able to use them in a concrete situation.
