Learning unit contents
The course is designed to help M2 students in the process of writing their final thesis. Texts from varied genres will be translated and commented upon collectively.
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
The course intends to sharpen the students' analytical skills as well as their ability to reflect upon and conceptualise their translation practice. It also intends to enhance their abilitity to detect and solve complex translation difficulties.
Prerequisite knowledge and skills
Excellent command of the English as well as French languages. Acute sense of analysis.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Texts will be translated, discussed collectively and analysed through the lens of linguistic or/and translation theories. Group presentation of theoretical texts and collective discussion. Professional translators and alumni will also be invited to give seminars. .
Mode of delivery (face to face, distance learning, hybrid learning)
Face-to-face, Tuesdays 2.0-4.00 pm, Q1, room 0/37. Online classes might be organised depending on the pandemic situation.
