Learning unit contents

This course proposes an analysis of the actors and institutions in charge of development policies. It deals with the main topics and strategies deployed by cooperation programs since the end of the Second World War.
To familiarize students with actors, institutions and issues of development policies and programs, currently deployed inside the so-called 'international development complex'. To analyse the different topics and objectives supported by these actors and institutions since the end of the Second World War and the colonial era.

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

The student will be able to understand and analyse the international cooperation's field and to develop a critical glance on its actors (from international institutions to grassroots organisations, NGOs, etc.) and its past and current stakes (from the colonial era to nowadays).

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

For the academic year 2020-2021, in accordance with the "Covid measures" and taking into account the availability of seats in the assigned auditorium, the course will be organized in the presence of students divided into two groups A and B who will occupy the room alternately every other week. The students not present in class will follow the course on the lifesize platform. The students who will follow the course at a distance will have to mute their microphone but will be able to interact during the course by asking for the floor (button request to speak). 
The course schedule will be arranged to respect the ventilation measures of the granted premises.  
Wearing a mask is mandatory for students who will have to occupy every other bench.
