Learning unit contents
Different topics will be presented
-Description and presentation of the Hallmarks of cancer
-Introduction to genomic instability in tumors
-Epigenetic and cancer
-Tumor micro-environment
-Heterogeneity of tumors, epithelial to mesenchymal transition
-Introduction to pre-clinical models of cancer
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
To introduce the different common characteristics of tumor cells and the importance of the micro-environment.
To obtain enough basic knowledges to fully understand and be critic towards scientific publications, experimental essays and clinical trials.

Molecular biology and signalling cascades

Different sets of lecture will be given by experts in the described fields.
9 lessons will be given by A Noël, Y Habraken, C Gilles, NE Sounni et D Mottet. Lesson 10 could be devoted to questions/answers.

On premise : written exam in English, 1h30, open questions and questions with muliple choice responses
If only at distance session
Via ecampus: written exam in English, 1h15, questions with multiples answers

Assessment methods and criteria
Below you will find information on the evaluation methods planned for in-person and remote exams as well as those planned for hybrid sessions. Depending on how the health crisis evolves, the chosen method will be communicated to you no later than one month before the start of the exam session.
Written exam (with the possibility to answer in English or French) to assess both knowledge and comprehension. This exam could contain questions with short or long or multiple choice answers.
This exam will be conducted in ULiege premises if the sanitary conditons at this time allow it. If not, the exam will be taken via internet with eCampus.
yellow code: a written exam on the ULiege premises will be favored
orange code: the written exam will take place on ecampus
red code: the written exam will take place on eCampus
