Learning outcomes of the learning unit

At the end of the course, the student will be able to make a critical analysis of an early warning system, to define its defaults, its limits and he/she will be able to propose its improvement.

Prerequisite knowledge and skills

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

The basics of an EWS will be found from the vision of several videos. Then, this information will be structured to identify the fundamental elements of an EWS. A set of courses will then introduce students to the efficient acquisition of data and information and their association with models adapted to the specific context of SAP.
Students will be invited to present and criticize an example of SAP used in their country.

Face-to-face teaching

Organisational adjustments related to the current health context

Course will be in face to face mode as far as it will be authorized. It will switch to distance learning when it will be imposed. LifeSize will be used and course will be recorded.

Recommended or required readings

Course notes made up of powerpoints, articles, podcasts, videos, ... will be provided at the start of each course.    

Assessment methods and criteria

Below you will find information on the evaluation methods planned for in-person and remote exams as well as those planned for hybrid sessions. Depending on how the health crisis evolves, the chosen method will be communicated to you no later than one month before the start of the exam session.
