Learning unit contents
The course « Biopsychology of addictions » covers the current explanatory theories of addiction together with an overview of the main classes of addictive drugs.
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
The main purpose of the course is to gain knowledge of the addiction syndrome and of the various abused drugs, in order to train the students to deal with all the problems linked with drug and alcohol consumptions in the various fields of psychology.

Mode of delivery (face to face, distance learning, hybrid learning)
The course is organized in the form of a seminar in which groups of students are invited to present one class of the main addictive drugs. The presentation will be based on a personnal bibliographic research. At the end of the seminar, the students will be asked to provide a brief written report summarizing the topic of their presentation.
Organisational adjustments related to the current health context
The oral presentation by student groups is replaced by a written report. The evaluation will be based on the written report.
Recommended or required readings
The required documents (scientific articles and book chapters) are to be found by the students in the scientific litterature.
