Learning unit contents

The course has 3 main goals:
1) Introduce students to the systemic epistemology and its theoretical backgrounds (cybernetics; systems theory etc.);
2) Present the evolution of the main systemic theories (strategic approach, structural approach, intergenerational approach, contextual approach; Milan school; brief therapies etc. );
3) Illustrate the different fields of application of systemic psychology (clinic, work, school, institutions) and the role of the systems psychologist in different contexts.  

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

- Students will be introduced to the systemic approach in different fields of application (family, institution, work).
-They will learn the specific position of the observer involved in the object of observation.
-They also will learn the specificity and transversality of the laws organizing various systems.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Ex-cathedra classes supported by powerpoint.
Active participation of students will be encouraged ( role playing activities, case analysis, debates etc).

Mode of delivery (face to face, distance learning, hybrid learning)

The course will be provided in alternating face-to-face mode (each week one half of the class will be in face-to-face mode, the other half of the class will follow the cours on line).
The course will be organized completely remotely in case of a negative evolution of the health situation.

Assessment methods and criteria

Below you will find information on the evaluation methods planned for in-person and remote exams as well as those planned for hybrid sessions. Depending on how the health crisis evolves, the chosen method will be communicated to you no later than one month before the start of the exam session.
