Learning unit contents
The objective of this course is to emphasize the scientific method used in psychology and to introduce the major theories that have shaped the current landscape of psychological sciences. With these knowledge, the student will be able to understand better how personality is described within these different approaches and what are the bases of the different therapies that exist today.
The course will also seek to address some of the concepts of health psychology , including the importance of communication in the care relationship.
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
After this sequence of courses, students will be able to understand the nuances existing between the myths and the data coming from the scientific approach in psychology (the importance of the scientific method, differentiate deduction and experimentation).
He will know the major theoretical perspectives in psychology and will be able to understand the different concepts of personality. It will have a better representation of the existing therapies and of their expected benefits.
He will be able to understand better the issues of communication in the care relationship.

Assessment methods and criteria
Below you will find information on the evaluation methods planned for in-person and remote exams as well as those planned for hybrid sessions. Depending on how the health crisis evolves, the chosen method will be communicated to you no later than one month before the start of the exam session.
Written examination-MCQ
For multiple choice questionnaire, the teacher keep the opportunity to suppress some questions which turns out to be ambiguous or misleading, in favor of the whole group.
