Learning unit contents

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

Prepare students to assume functions related to the training received, by applying in a professional context the knowledge acquired during teaching activities. They will also be able to test their ability to integrate into this professional environment, and to meet the requirements and constraints of all kinds involved in carrying out such an activity.

Prerequisite knowledge and skills

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

The choice of the internship will be based primarily on the student's personal research, who will submit his project to a supervisor. The final approval of the internship will be given to all supervisors gathered in a college; it will result in the issuance of an internship agreement signed by the parties concerned, namely the representative of the host organisation, the director of the translation and interpretation department and the trainee student.
During the internship, the supervisor who has agreed to supervise the student remains in contact with the host organization, and reserves the right to meet with the student's integration and training manager (internship supervisor).
At the end of the period, the tutor will send the ULiège a detailed evaluation sheet. The student will provide his supervisor with a report, the content of which is detailed in the vade mecum of the internship, taking care to respect the deadline for filing.

Mode of delivery (face to face, distance learning, hybrid learning)

Organisational adjustments related to the current health context

No change in assessment procedures in the event of a switch to Code Orange.

Assessment methods and criteria

Below you will find information on the evaluation methods planned for in-person and remote exams as well as those planned for hybrid sessions. Depending on how the health crisis evolves, the chosen method will be communicated to you no later than one month before the start of the exam session.

The internship is mandatory and marked on 20 pts. The evaluation is established by the supervisor, on the one hand on the basis of the assessment provided by the tutor (50% of the mark), and on the other hand on the basis of the report written by the student (50% of the mark).
In the event of failure in June (score less than 10) on both evaluations (internship and report), this evaluation cannot be the subject of a 2nd session and the student will be obliged to return to the internship.
A score of less than 10/20 for the internship report results in a failure of the overall internship score. The internship report must therefore be submitted in the 2nd session.
