Learning unit contents

The course address the most frequent pathologies of locomotor system.

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

To acknowledge bone injury (traumatic or non-traumatic) and soft tissue injury throughout anamnesis and clinical examination.
To suggest additional investigation to specify the diagnosis
To establish a differential diagnosis
To guide therapeutic management
To explain the surgical strategy and surgical limits to a patient

Prerequisite knowledge and skills

Co and pre-requisites are detailed in the general Master Medical formation (global course program).

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

This module is multidisciplinary and consists of lectures, supplemented by several sessions of practical activities. Clinical formations are included in another course code and complete the diagnosis learning by a patient-centered approach.

Mode of delivery (face to face, distance learning, hybrid learning)

Face-to-face teaching for orthopaedic surgery courses.
Concerning physical medicine, following the health measures due to the COIVD, the theoretical courses are available in podcasts on e-Campus before the planned course date. The face-to-face courses will allow students to answer questions, propose clinical cases to be discussed or quizzes in relation to the subject taught via podcasts.

Assessment methods and criteria

Below you will find information on the evaluation methods planned for in-person and remote exams as well as those planned for hybrid sessions. Depending on how the health crisis evolves, the chosen method will be communicated to you no later than one month before the start of the exam session.
