In this course, the student will:
1. expand and deepen his knowledge of business German, for the four skills:
- listening
- reading
- speaking
- writing

- interkulturelle Unterschiede zwischen Deutschland und Belgien
- Aktuelles aus Deutschland
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
This course will
- help students to demonstrate scientific precision and a critical mind.
- help students to communicate efficiently, internally and externally, about a company, organization or project.
- allow students to improve their proficiency in German as a foreign language
- allow students to raise their awareness of the multicultural and international features of their environment.
- encourage students to be curious and to show a scientific precision of academic level.
At the end of Master: European level B2
Prerequisite knowledge and skills
The student should already know German (European level B1).
Planned learning activities and teaching methods
In the class room:
- brushing up the grammar rules
- discovering several chapters of the book (vocabulary, grammar)
- listening comprehension
- oral exercises
Home work:
- grammar and vocabulary exercises (for example on Lol@: online exercises)
- reading comprehension exercises
- written exercises
We'll regularly use multimedia engineering.
Due to the sanitary crisis, a part of the course (or all of it) may have to be done remotely. The students will be informed according to the evolution of the situation.
Mode of delivery (face to face, distance learning, hybrid learning)
24 hours in the class room + exercises at home and on Lol@.

If we can not go anymore to the University: Classes according to the usual schedule on the "Collaborate" platform (Lol@).

Assessment methods and criteria
Below you will find information on the evaluation methods planned for in-person and remote exams as well as those planned for hybrid sessions. Depending on how the health crisis evolves, the chosen method will be communicated to you no later than one month before the start of the exam session.
Any session :
- In-person
written exam ( open-ended questions ) AND oral exam
- Remote
written exam ( open-ended questions ) AND oral exam AND written work
- If evaluation in "hybrid"
preferred remote

DISTANCE EXAMINATION
Individual evaluation.
Written exam (January): 50%:
- listening comprehension on Lol@ - open questions (25%)
- writing an essay (homework - questions about it during the oral exam) (25%)
Oral exam: 50% / on Lol@
The student who doesn't take all the parts of the exam will become 0/20 as final mark.
The student has also to make the eLAO-online-test - if not, he/she gets no mark for the German exam.
